Promotion of the project Tales of Belgrade and a book Gates of the Balkans by Svetlana Velmar Janković PE ”Belgrade Fortress” has started a project “Tales of Belgrade” in order to promote cultural heritage of Belgrade and the Danube countries, and to improve cooperation in the field of culture and revitalization of cultural heritage through contemporary art.
The project “Tales of Belgrade” promotes literary works of local artists through conversation with writers and experts from different fields of culture. The goal of this project is to create a new content in the revitalized space of the Nebojša Tower and to promote Belgrade together with its rivers. Belgrade Fortress, which has been the historical and urban core for over two millennia, is the perfect place to start “Tales of Belgrade”.
The first “Tale of Belgrade” is scheduled for Thursday, December 22nd 2011 at 7pm at the Nebojša Tower.
We will welcome Svetlana Velmar Janković and present her book “Gates of the Balkans”, an exciting historical novel and also a reliable guide through the past of Belgrade, from settlement beginnings at the confluence of rivers Sava and Danube till the World War I. Jovan Ćirilov will be a moderator and Ivan Radosavljević, a chief editor of publishing house “Stubovi kulture” will speak about the book.
