On Wednesday June 13th 2012 7pm at Nebojša Tower as part of the series “Tales of Belgrade” the author Nenad Novak Stefanović will present his book “Skylight”. The novel “Skylight” was published by the publishing house “Arhipelag”. Beside the author, editor in chief of the publishing house “Arhipelag”, Gojko Božović will also talk about the book.
The novel “Skylight” is a new novel by famous writer and publicist Nenad Novak Stefanović which tells a tale of Belgrade that no more exists, about the art that was side-lined and about the heroes who disappeared into the folds of time from the selected margins.
This novel confronts us with an exciting story about a young man, participant of the Balkan wars, who’s attempting to reconstruct the little-known story of talented artists who have marked Belgrade society in the sixties and seventies.
The writer has found the basic material for this novel in the collected writings of Leonid Šejka such are “Junk Yards”, “City” and “Castle”.
Nenad Novak Stefanović was born in 1961 in Belgrade where he lives and works and his fiction has been translated into several languages. His most successful novel among critics and readers is the “The doctor listens to swing” published in 2009.
With the project “Tales of Belgrade” PE “Belgrade Fortress” strives to promote the literary works of local authors through interviews with writers and experts in various fields of culture with the aim of establishing new and enriched content in the revitalized space of Nebojša Tower as well as promoting Belgrade together rivers it lies upon.
