Belgrade, March 10th 2014 – An exhibition of works by children and young people with developmental disorders form Day Care Centre Stari Grad called “So can I” has been opened on Saturday March 8th 2014 at the Music Pavilion in Kalemegdan Park.
Exhibition represents a continuation of co-operation between PE “Belgrade Fortress” and the Centre for Placement and Day Care of Children and Youth with Developmental Disorders – Day Care Centre Stari Grad, which started in 2012. The exhibition presents works of protégés made within handicraft workshops with the aim of drawing public attention to their abilities and thereby integrating persons with disabilities into the wider social environment as equal members of the society.
In addition to the exhibition, event traditionally includes a program which represents is a kind of a gift from the protégés to their mothers and kindergarten teachers and to all residents of Belgrade as well on the occasion of International Women`s Day. The choir “Colegium Musicum”, students of the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, students of Drinka Pavlović elementary school, Day Care protégés participated in the program as well as a surprise guest – actor Nenad Okanović.
Protégés of the Centre for Placement and Day Care of Children and Youth with Developmental Disorders – Day Care Centre Stari Grad will exhibit their works on an exhibition cart at Kalemegdan Park until the end of 2014, from 10:00 to 12:00.
