Exhibition – Fortress on the Danube

Predrag Marković, Minister of Culture, Media and Information, Francesco Bandarin, Assistant Director General for Culture of UNESCO, and Ivana Lučić Todosić Director of PE “Belgrade Fortress” opened the exhibition “Route of Culture – Fortress on the Danube” on Friday, July 10, 2011 at 12 o’clock.

Visitors will have a chance to see the original presentation of the fortresses on the Danube banks – Bač, Novi Sad, Belgrade, Smederevo, Golubac, Veliko Gradište and Kladovo, on the plateau monument Victor at the Belgrade Fortress by June 20. The exhibition is a promotional part of the same project implemented by the Ministry of Culture within the UNESCO’s Southeast Europe Cultural Heritage Regional Program.

Ministers from countries participating in the 7th South-Eastern Europe Ministerial Conference “Cultural Heritage-Bridge towards a Shared Future”, held in Belgrade, will attend the opening of the exhibition. Conference of Ministers of Culture of South-Eastern Europe “Cultural Heritage – a Bridge towards a Shared Future” is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Media and Information of the Republic of Serbia, supported by UNESCO. Serbia took over the presidency of the Council of Ministers of Culture of South East Europe from Romania in April this year.
