Blog

Sava Promenade, Kalemegdan park
June 5th – June 30th 2014

Bulgaria is a land of ancient cultures. It is among the oldest European countries and one of the few having its statehood’s beginning, here in the Balkans, historically precisely fixed – 681 A.D. Inhabited back in prehistoric times, the Bulgarian lands are adorned with the material heritage of all epochs known in South East Europe. Many of the biggest Bulgarian cities have also millennial history. Ancient and Medieval city walls, theatres, stadiums and churches coexist with modern façades in their landscape as a proof for the human ability to keep the link between past and present alive, regardless of the vicissitudes of history.

The exhibition contains pictures of just a few Bulgarian cities marking the cultural symbiosis which enriches the Bulgarian urban life and creates a hospitable ambience awaiting to be shared.
