Promotion of the third edition of the book “Ogres & Bogies” by Aleksandar Palavestra (alias A. Peragrash) and exhibition by Rastko Ciric present strange creatures from the Serbian mythology.
“With the ironic grin of early-morning rationalism , it is easy to talk of the collective and individual unconscious, of mythical inheritance and the fruits of imagination and fancy. At night, near some creaking, haunted watermill, one would refrain from being so categorical. Anyone can carry out the very simple experiment. Just visit, at dusk, a wood or even a large park. If you hide and sit quietly long enough, you will begin to notice little inquisitive creatures watching you. You will soon be able to makeout squirrels, spiders, worms and beetles, but if you wait a little longer you will be aware of being looked at by creatures you never believed existed. It is possible that these creatures look at us with disbelief, but perhaps also with a desire to get to know us and understand us better, because they share this world with us for better and worse”.
Alexander Palavestra (from the Preface of the book)
